Capricorn FM’s new line up

Capricorn FM recently held a New Line-Up reveal event in Polokwane. The purpose of the soiree was to share the station’s direction for the 2012 from a programming perspective. The new line-up introduces more shows, more fresh and talented voices to the rapidly growing radio station. Jocks who represent the 3 different indigenous languages’ presence on the platform (Xitsonga, Sepedi, Tshivenda) – the three dominant indigenous languages which account for 30% of Capricorn FM license condition.

The 2012 line-up will also increase music output on weekends, the sports show which was on Fridays between 18h00-20h00 has now been moved to weekdays to allow Capricorn FM to set the tone for the weekend, starting on a Friday afternoons. ‘This will ensure that we remain the no. 1 lifestyle orientated radio station in the hearts of our listeners and we continue to dominate the airwaves in our area of broadcast…’says Ashifa Shabba Muleya, Capricorn FM programmes manager.

New Presenters introduced into the system:

1.      Itumeleng Banda, from Univen FM Community Radio will host the Morning After, 03h00-06h00, Saturday and Sunday.

2.      Karabo Maila, from Jozi FM, originally from Limpopo Zebediela, will host the Extravaganza on Saturday and will be a weekend sports presenter.

3.      , from Univen FM, is our new weekend sports presenter and weekdays sports reporter.

The Ashifa Breakfast will continue unchanged with the same presenters (Ashifashabba, Mpho and BK).

The Capricorn FM Drive will have a new female co-host. DJ Complexion will now partner with Ms Prudence Mabasa who is not new to the Capricorn FM listeners; she has been hosting the Capricorn FM Top 30 for the past 2 years, and continues with it in 2012 as well.

Another significant change is the introduction of the Sports Precinct on weekdays, 18h00-18h30, Monday to Thursday with the current presenter Mr BK Matewe. The Capricorn FM Talk show will now air between 18h30 till 20h00 Monday to Thursday with the current presenter Mr Thabiso Kotane.

The Prime Adventure with Maxwell, The Sunsrise Delight with Mothusi, Weekend Fix with Black, The Grand Finale with Big Daddy, The Love Zone with Jos, remain unchanged in their current time channels.

The following shows will move time channels – The Soul Connection with Charles Mnisi, from 23h00-03h00, Monday to Thursday and The Mixdown Avenue with Lindiwe Makhubele and a Guest DJ will now be from 20h00 till 00:00 Friday and Saturday. The Midnite Groove with Nthabiseng Selaledi will air on Saturday and Sunday at 00h00-03h00. The Sheltered Zone with DJ Simphiwe Mdlalose is now from 09h00-11:00.

DJ Clayson Monyela will now do specials shows on Capricorn FM, (i.e. – Easter and Festive Season specials shows).

 

Capricorn FMs new line up will kick off on Monday 5 March 2012 with loads of exciting on air competitions.
