Good Housekeeping now on sale

Good Housekeeping and the Afrikaans version, Goeie Huishouding, are now on sale, and are set to become monthly must-reads for South African women.

“We are very excited that Good Housekeeping is now available to South African women, and we cannot wait for it to become a part of their everyday lives,” says Sally Emery, editor of Good Housekeeping. “This magazine speaks directly to women about the things that matter to them most – including their family, their home, their friends and their work – and readers can expect to find inspiring tips, clever ideas and affordable buys on every page. Good Housekeeping not only acknowledges the multitasking reality of women’s lives, it goes one step further by offering useful, tried and tested information and trusted advice that will help save them time, money and hassle.”

Featuring international model, wife and mother of four Heidi Klum on the cover, Good Housekeeping is on sale for only R24,95. For the past 126 years, Good Housekeeping has delivered ‘tried, tested and trusted’ information to more than 30-million readers around the world, and this winning recipe is set to continue in South Africa.

“Around the world, research has shown that women know, love and trust the brand – they believe what they read in Good Housekeeping. Our own research shows that women in South Africa are ready and waiting for a magazine like Good Housekeeping, which differs from the other magazines on the market with its fresh, new, positive content and look,” says Emery.

Each month, the magazine features relevant content in the following editorial pillars:

  • Good Buys – From beauty and fashion to must-have home items, this section offers readers a variety of useful, fun and affordable buys.
  • Good (Enough) Housekeeping – Clever ideas, smart cheats and easy fixes for the home.
  • Good Health – A roundup of smart ways to stay well, eat right and get fit.
  • Good Looks – Beauty and fashion news, deals and trends.
  • Good Buzz – The stars talk about their homes, families and fashion.
  • Good Advice – Our experts share their advice for your family, your money and your life.
  • Good Choices – What to buy, skip and know. This section includes Good Housekeeping’s monthly product reviews, where each product gets put through rigorous testing. It also includes the monthly column by our consumer expert, who answers readers’ questions regarding consumer issues.
  • Good Stuff – In the launch issue, Good Housekeeping features a mega 21-page special highlighting 101 magic must-haves for the home.
  • Good Food – Test-kitchen recipes, ideas and tips. In true Good Housekeeping tradition, all recipes in this section are tested three times to ensure that they are easy to make, fast and reliable. Food expert Sharon Glass also shares her tips with readers.

“Quality and value are the hallmarks of Good Housekeeping, and the reader can expect to find these, along with ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ ideas throughout the magazine,” says Emery. “In our launch issue readers will find 12 quick, easy pasta recipes that will add a fresh spin to weekday suppers; dozens of swimsuits that will flatter every shape, along with advice on how to choose a swimsuit that will make them look and feel their best; plus clever touches they can add to their home to create a modern romantic look,” says Emery.
