Since being in the driving seat, Rowlands has been responsible for the growth of over 200% in a mere 2 years between 2009 and 2011 from both revenue and staffing perspectives. Within the group, the biggest growth areas have been Carat, which has increased billings by over 100% and the digital sector of the business, which has grown by over 275% in 24 months.
“We have all worked incredibly strategically to get to this level and we continue to work as an integrated team across our brands and this award is as much that of each staff member as it is mine and I would like to dedicate this to them,” said Rowlands.
50% of Aegis’ income now comes from its digital interests in Sub Saharan Africa and over 50% of the staff are invested in a “digital environment’ and this space continues to grow even faster throughout Sub Saharan Africa. Total business has grown rapidly across Africa with new business in East and West Africa coming from P&G, Coca Cola and MTN. The company’s growth has been spurred on by aggressive training and development strategy to drive consistency and transparency.
