Media24 launch new lifestyle magazine

Famous Publishing and Media 24 have just launched The Parks, a brand new lifestyle magazine for LSM 10+, to cover a very important area in Johannesburg.

The magazine features lifestyle and business content pertaining to Johannesburg’s upmarket Northern suburbs, from Westcliffe, through Saxonwold, Parkview, Parkhurst, Parktown North, Parkwood, Rosebank, Dunkeld, Craighall Park all the way to Hyde Park and Sandhurst. It will also cover the upmarket areas of Birdhaven, Melrose, Illovo, Inanda and Athol.

The magazine follows the successful formula used by Durban-based Famous Publishing, whose publications include the very successful The Ridge, covering Umhlanga Ridge, and the Crest, which covers the Hillcrest area. Edited by Sharon Preston, The Parks is a very upmarket magazine, concentrating on news and information about the areas, the people who live there, businesses, properties, lifestyle and entertainment. All the articles are written by specialist journalists who are well-known in the industry, including Gus Silber, Danielle Weakley and wine connoisseur Carrie Adams.

The magazine will cover in-depth features on interesting personalities who live and work in the area, as well as sections on travel, business, food, wine, leisure activities and much more.

The Parks will be distributed free to homes in the areas mentioned – approximately 10 000 to start. It will also be available to upload onto iPad and there will be a community website linked to the magazine so that readers can access information and comment online.

Initially The Parks will be published quarterly
